Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is Agile Lab's cloud-hosted Windows environment, running on Microsoft Azure. It gives you access to a fully configured Windows desktop from any device, without needing to manage a local Windows installation.

Access is provisioned by Internal IT (see IT Support & Service Requests).


Connect from macOS

1. Install Windows App

Install Windows App from the Mac App Store:

2. Sign in with your Agile Lab account

  1. Open Windows App.
  2. If prompted, navigate through the onboarding tour or select Skip.
  3. In the top-right corner, click the + icon.
  4. Select Add Work or School Account.
  5. Sign in with your Agile Lab credentials (yourname@agilelab.it).

3. Connect to your virtual desktop

  1. After signing in, open the Devices tab.
  2. You will see the virtual desktop assigned to you.
  3. Double-click it to start the session.
  4. If prompted for credentials again, enter your Agile Lab password.

First connection note: The first time you connect, the session may take a few minutes to initialize while your user profile is created on the remote machine. Subsequent connections will be faster.

4. Set up your environment

Once connected, proceed with installing any tools required for your role.


Connect from Windows

1. Install Windows App

Install Windows App from the Microsoft Store:

2. Sign in with your Agile Lab account

  1. Open Windows App.
  2. If prompted, navigate through the onboarding tour or select Skip.
  3. Select Sign in in the main view.
  4. Enter your Agile Lab credentials (yourname@agilelab.it).

3. Connect to your virtual desktop

  1. After signing in, open the Devices tab.
  2. Find the virtual desktop assigned to you.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. If prompted for credentials again, enter your Agile Lab password.
