At Agile Lab, we are committed to building a company culture that supports gender equality, work-life balance, and the family needs of our employees. We understand that important life events, such as marriage, becoming a parent, or caring for family members, can strongly affect a person’s well-being and performance at work.
Supporting working parents is a key part of our approach. Instead of offering direct financial help, Agile Lab provides personalized support to employees returning from parental leave. This flexible approach includes options like gradual return to work, flexible hours, and access to workshops or coaching sessions focused on managing work-life balance.
We also value other meaningful family moments, such as marriage, and aim to make our company policies empathetic and adaptable. At Agile Lab, we support our employees not only as professionals, but as people with full personal lives, because when people feel supported, they thrive.
The following information applies to direct employees of Agile Lab (EMP1), whether on permanent or fixed-term contracts, who are entitled to the following types of leave. Morevoer, there is no distinction between full-time or partial-time employees.
Marital Leave
Marital leave is governed by the CCNL which allows for a period of 15 calendar days off from work while maintaining normal pay. The 15 days should be taken around the date of the marriage, but the company offers flexibility so that the employee can take them at their preferred time.
The label on Elapseit is "CM - Congedo Matrimoniale".
Marriage certificate must be sent by mail to the People Admin circle.
Compulsory Maternity Leave
By law, mothers are entitled to 5 months of paid parental leave to recover from childbirth and bond with their newborn. The Compulsory Parental Leave involves 5 months paid at 80% by INPS.
Compulsory days should be entered on Elapseit as Leave Type “M8 - Maternità obbligatoria".
Before starting maternity leave, it is necessary for the employee to apply to INPS (it is possible to do it autonomously by accessing the online portal) and present the medical certificate by mail to the People Admin circle.
Birth certificate must be sent by mail to the People Admin circle.
Compulsory Parental Leave
According to current Italian legislation, the working father is entitled to 10 working days of mandatory paternity leave, fully paid by INPS. This leave can be taken:
- in the two months before the expected due date;
- within the five months following the birth;
- or during the mother’s maternity leave.
Following Judgment No. 115/2025 of the Constitutional Court, the right to mandatory paternity leave has also been extended to the intended mother in female same-sex couples. Therefore, an employee who is recognised as the intended mother (registered in the civil status records or through an adoption/foster care order) enjoys the same rights as the working father.
The days must be recorded on Elapseit under Leave Type: C1 - Congedo parentale obbligatorio
The child’s birth certificate and tax code must be sent by e-mail to the People Admin team.
Optional Parental Leave
Under Article 198 of the CCNL Commercio, each parent is entitled to take time off work (parental leave) for each child during the first twelve years of the child’s life.
This overall period is unique and may be shared between mother and father. To exercise the right to parental leave, each parent must give the employer written notice of at least 5 days, except in cases of objective impossibility. The communication must be sent by e-mail to People Admin.
The total duration of parental leave taken by both parents (optional maternity/paternity leave) must not exceed eleven months.
Pay • 80% of salary → for a maximum period of 3 months, until the child reaches 6 years of age. • 30% of salary → for subsequent periods, until the child reaches 12 years of age.
